Are You Ready To Be Brave?

Most of us in this group and who read this blog are moms. How do I know that – well, when I started this blog it was for my handmade baby shop. I grew it to support my customers.  But as this group grew and as my business grew, something felt off. Don’t get me wrong, I loved growing the community and loved making the products and seeing the products on all your little ones. It was exhilarating, but honestly, it wasn’t fulfilling. I had a deeper desire, a greater purpose – I wanted to reach you and encourage you and connect with you on a deeper level than baby fashion. If any of you know me well or really know me at all – you know that I am not the most fashion-forward person – comfort beats fashion any day. I feel our beauty goes so much deeper than how we dress up the outside.
I have gone through a huge pivot – for lack of a better term – in my own life over the past year and a half since closing Buccio Baby. I have faced some pretty toxic things in my life head-on, stepped out of fear, and slowly have begun sharing my story and sharing my struggle. When I started my blog after becoming a new mom, I started it because I was stuck in the struggle. Everything was a struggle. It was all new and it was all a lot harder than I expected and I knew I couldn’t be alone. I wanted to share in the struggle.
It has taken a long time – 5 and a half years – to learn how to really share in the struggle and goodness knows sister, I am not even close to being there yet. But here are a few things I do know.
  1. We are all struggling. Anxious, lonely, afraid, and looking for significance. We go about our days, our lives, with a smile and an “I’m fine” when we know deep down, we aren’t.
  2. We all feel shame for the struggle and we let that shame hold us back from really stepping into who we really are and showing up fully in our lives.
  3. We tend to end up living a stuck life. Knowing we were made for more. Knowing we have unfigured-out dreams and goals, but feel the pressure to prove or are worried about what others think.
How do I know these things? Because I am right there with you friend. My brokenness screams these things too. My shame and guilt hold me back. The more I share my story and am let into the deep crevasses of people’s hearts the more I am convinced that each and every one of us is fighting something. Yet, we look out from our silent, secret battles and see people who smile peacefully and seem to be alright and we smile right back at them.
You are not alone. Come as you are. Your brokenness, your struggle, your stuckness is welcome here.
I surely don’t have it all together, but I am determined to live a life full of purpose.

So if you are ready to do any or all of these:

  • Tackle obstacles, disappointments, perfectionism, fear, mindset blocks
  • Remove labels and break out of the box of expectation
  • Identify and eliminate excuses and unnecessary stress while gaining clarity about your life
  • Overcome the lie that you can’t live your God-given purpose until you reach a certain point or milestone in life, finances, fitness level, etc
  • Create healthy habits that will give you energy and help you grow.
  • Learn how to love yourself and value yourself, set boundaries to allow for healthy vulnerability, and have a clear picture of self-worth
  • Step out in courage to bravely share your story and make an impact on the lives around you.
  • Learn, understand and live true freedom in your everyday life

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. And yet, so often, that’s exactly what we do.

Whether it’s starting a business, trying to lose weight, paying off debt, or any other big goal we’re trying to achieve. We keep trying the same things, again and again, then wonder why it’s not working. Why we’re not getting to where we want to be.

So I guess the question really is…

What are you ready to do differently?

Are you ready to take the next step in getting unstuck? Are you ready to get off the hamster wheel?
