Let’s start with one of my favorites – this song fits my life so perfectly and it’s only the beginning of my story…
My Story
“If I told you my story
You would hear Hope that wouldn’t let go
And if I told you my story
You would hear Love that never gave up
And if I told you my story
You would hear Life, but it wasn’t mine
If I should speak then let it be
Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him
If I told you my story
You would hear victory over the enemy
And if I told you my story
You would hear freedom that was won for me
And if I told you my story
You would hear Life overcome the grave
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior all the day long”

After a somewhat rough church service today, this song has so much more meaning to me. We all go through our trials and our rough spots and at the time they may seem SO bad, like you will never recover from them. But there is hope and grace in Christ. I have watched and continue to watch Him move in my life in ways I would never imagine. He is constantly at work and promises to work everything together for good as long as we continue to follow and trust Him.
I had a really dark couple of years that I never thought I’d come back from. I thought that they would constantly be a black hole in my life. And honestly they still haunt me at times.
But, God got a hold of my heart and he has shown me the true meaning of the verse in Romans.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
This coming year, I’d like to share my story. Not everything, because God is still doing some major work in my life and there are parts that aren’t ready to be shared. But there are bits and pieces that I am going to share with you. I believe God gave me this amazing platform for a reason and I plan to use it to glorify Him.
I am not going to share them with you to air my dirty laundry or brag about things I’ve done, but in hopes to encourage those who are struggling, those who feel alone and don’t know where to turn.
I am writing to you because I believe God can be glorified through the transformation in my life and I hope to encourage those who are or were in my shoes. Girl, you are never too far gone.
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
When I was in the middle of my storm, God wasn’t who I thought to turn to, I thought I’d be shunned and frowned upon. I thought I was too far gone. It wasn’t until I was at my lowest of lows that I turned to him. But because of HIS grace and HIS mercy I am sitting here today writing to you while snuggled on the couch with my husband as my sweet babies sleep – a life I thought I had destroyed and would never have.
There is hope for each of us all because Jesus Christ came to earth and died for each and every one one of us. His grace and His love can mend your heart and restore your life. You just need to let Him in.
Just keep in mind, my life isn’t perfect, nor has it been easy. BUT the hard work and change has been worth it and God has shown HIS hand and His blessings in more ways that I could have ever imagined.
“This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long.”
My dear friend, it’s not too late, you are never too far gone for the love and grace of Jesus. If you need someone to talk to, please email me! I am hear to listen and talk through. I will encourage and not judge. Even if you don’t know me, I am here to talk or listen. The worse way to struggle, is to struggle alone. Being in the middle of the storm is so lonely, but it doesn’t have to be.
