Dear Dreamer

dear dreamer
I have a crazy imagination. I always have. Unfortunately it has been the result of a lot of bad through out my life. I have had night terrors, I have been known to go in and out of depression and I have also lived in my head for a while (like alternate reality). When things weren’t going right in life, my thoughts and imagination were the first to spin out of control.

ā€œGod gives us a vision, and then he takes us down to the valley to batter us into the shape of that vision. Every God-given vision will become real if we only have patience.ā€ Oswald Chambers
Ā
I’ve always been a dreamer. I’ve always had big plans in my head. I struggled for many years figuring that out and used my dreamer spirit wrongly. Once Jesus got a hold of my heart he also got a hold of my head. It has been a long (on going) and tedious process undoing all of my old habits. But, as my faith has grown, the battle inside my head has been becoming won over by the greater good.

ā€œAnd we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.ā€ Romans 8:28
Ā

Once I got my thought process under control and my heart right with God, my night terrors subsided (besides for the occasional attack once in a great while), my depression has ceased and I now live in the here and now. My real life is HARD, but it is SO much more fulfilling than any alternate reality could be. God has walked me through so much yuck and His blessings are overwhelming.

I am still left with a crazy imagination – what is more popularly know as being a Dreamer. But God is showing me how to use that gift to His glory. Over the past year I have started getting my feet wet in blogging. I have built great friendships in this community and have learned so much. Now I am working on building my own business. Right now it is comprised of Handmade Baby Accessories, but I am leaving the path open for God to build and am excited to see where he takes me each and every step of the way. My goal is to grow HIS kingdom, not mine.

ā€œDreaming is a beautiful burden that can bring ultimate glory to the Dream Giver.ā€ – Jenn Sprinkle

Are you a dreamer? How do you tame your imagination? Can you use it as a creative outlet? What are your dreams? How can you use them to build His kingdom? I’d love to know. Please feel free to leave your answers in the comments below.
